Elsie Benson, 89, of Lorimor died July 12 at her home. Memorial services were held Tues., July 14 at Stroud-Lindsay Golden Rule Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Minkler officiating. Burial was at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton, S.D. Wed., July 15 with the Rev. Mark Holland overseeing the graveside service.

Born in Madison County January 12, 1903 to Arthur Barr and Anna Sawhill Barr, Mrs. Benson lived in Madison County until moving to South Dakota in the 1930's. She returned to the Afton area in 1960 and then to Lorimor.

She married Denman Benson October 23, 1925 in Atlantic and to this union a son was born. Mrs. Benson lived her life as a loving housewife.

She is survived by her husband. Preceding her in death was her four-year-old son, two brothers and four sisters.
