A. Denman "Banjo" Benson, 95, of Atlantic, died Dec. 11, 1996 at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services were Dec. 13 at the Duhn Funeral in Griswold. Don Gordon officiated the services and burial was at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton, S. D.
He was born in Macksburg on Nov. 5, 1901 to Arthur Denman and Nellie (Harpole) Benson. He attended rural schools and married Elsie Mae Barr on Oct. 23, 1925. He was a rancher, farmer and a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one son; one brother, and one sister.
Surviving relatives include several nieces and nephews.
