Richard Lee Bennett, 62, of Winterset died Feb. 7, 2003, of pneumonia at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Graveside services were held Monday, Feb. 10, at Fairview Cemetery, Madison Township, Madison County.

Richard Bennett was born Sept. 23, 1940, in Madison County to Harry Ward and Helen Frances (Kaufman) Bennett. Richard had been a lifelong area resident.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Max and two sisters, Virginia and Joy.

He is survived by four sisters, Connie Storms of Ankeny, Leona Henry of Ponca City, Okla., and Phyllis Carter and Beverly Barry, both of Des Moines; and five brothers, George Bennett of Alta Loma, Calif., Dale Bennett of Mesa, Ariz., and Vernon Bennett, Raymond Bennett and Kenneth Bennett, all of Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Winterset Care Center South.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
