Milldred A. Bennett, Winterset

Mildred A. Bennett, 82, of Winterset died of cardiac arrest Jan. 1, 2002 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 5, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset.

Mildlred Bennett was born Nov. 30, 1919 to Vernon and Mabel (Collis) Dirck of Geneseo, Ill. A resident of Winterset since 1998, she had previously resided in Yukon, Okla., from 1978 to 1998 and in Oswego, Ill, prior to 1978. Mildred had been a motel owner and manager in Oswego, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by both of her husband, Robert Ebert and Alfred Bennett.

She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Major of Winterset; a brother Vernon Dirck Jr. of Marietta, Minn.; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset.

Funeral arrangements were handled by the Neptune Society of Iowa.
