Services for Charley Kyle Bennett, a Winterset resident all his life, were held last Thursday at Collins Funeral Home.
Mr. Bennett was born in Winterset on April 7, 1901, to George M. and Isabelle Beedle Bennett. He died at home, 406 North Seventh, August 16, at the age of 76.
On February 25, 1925, he married Fannie Gideon in Perry. For 18 years, Mr. Bennett was a Madison County employee. He then was a construction worker for Winterset for over 20 years.
His wife survives him as does his son, Charles, of Des Moines. Other survivors are a brother, Ward, of Promise City; sister, Lela Wolf of Des Moines; step grandson and two step great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Earl.
Services were held by Rev. Byron Ayers. Burial was made at Fairview Cemetery.
