Donald Benge, Racine, Wis.

Donald Carol Benge, 78, died on December 4, 1992, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Racine, Wis. A memorial service was held Thurs., Dec. 10 at Maresh-Meredith Funeral Home in Racine with the Rev. James McChesney officiating.

Mr. Benge was born in Winterset on December 25, 1914, to Warren and Fannie (Kaiser) Benge and graduated from Winterset High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the European Theater of War. A commercial artist, he operated Don's Sign Shop in Racine and retired in 1986.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Jean (Jaeger) Benge of Racine; a son, Terry Benge of Salem, Ore.; a daughter Wendy and husband Edward Zahn of Harrisonburg, Vo.; two sisters, Gertrude Simon of Winterset and Miriam Hull of Bradenton, Fla.; two grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews and other relatives.
