Death of Mrs. Ralph Bell

Mrs. Ralph Bell, a life-long resident of Madison county, died last Thursday, June 20th at her home in Patterson. She was fifty five years of age.

The deceased was a daughter of John and Sarah Stout and was born July 27, 1893, in the Patterson neighborhood. On December 26, 1897, she was married to Ralph Bell. Five children were born to them: two daughters, Marian Elizabeth and Mary Gladys having preceded their mother in death.

Mrs. Bell is survived by her husband, one son, Robert, a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Clague, of Worthington, and a daughter, Alma, living at home. Two brothers, Charles and Elvis and five grandchildren, also survive her.

Rev. A. M. Eastman of Carroll, a former pastor of Patterson, conducted the funeral services at the Patterson Methodist Church, Saturday afternoon, June 22, and burial was made at Mt. Pelier cemetery.

Obituary – Mrs. Ralph Bell

Mary Jane, daughter of John and Sarah Stout, was born in Madison county, July 27, 1873 and departed this life June 20, 1929, being 55 years, 10 months, and 23 days.

While quite young she united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Patterson and continued a faithful member until death. Her entire life was spent in the neighborhood.

On December 16, 1897 she was united in marriage to Ralph Bell. To this union were born five children; two daughters, Marian Elizabeth and Mary Gladys having preceded their mother in death.

Mrs. Bell is survived by her husband, one son, Robert, a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Clague, of Worthington; and a daughter, Alma, living at home. Two brothers, Charles and Elvis, are left to mourn her death. There are five grandchildren and a host of friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Patterson Methodist church, Rev. A. M. Eastman of Carroll, a former pastor, conducting the service. Burial was at Mt. Pelier.
