Howard O. Bell of Anita, a former resident of Macksburg and Winterset, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the hospital in Atlantic. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Bell also was a former employee of the Iowa Soldier's home at Marshalltown. He was born at Atlantic Jan. 13, 1894, a son of Thomas J. and Olive Stout Bell. He was married April 18, 1920 at Winterset to Lorraine Evans. Her death occurred May 26, 1968 at Winterset. He moved from Winterset to Anita several months ago.
Mr. Bell served in the U.S. navy during World War I. He was a member of the Anita Christian church.
Surviving are two brothers, Orville Bell of Geyersville, Calif., and Aaron Bell of Anita and two sisters, Mrs. Olga Iler of Des Moines and Mrs. Mary Livingston of Anita.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Christian church at Anita, with burial in the cemetery there.
