WILBURN BEHNER OF ST. CHARLES DIES

Wilburn M. Behner of St. Charles died Thursday April 24, at a Winterset nursing home where he had been a patient since July 1967. He was 73 years of age.

Mr. Behner was born at Dakota City, Nebr., Dec. 23, 1895 a son of Charles H. and Rozela Behner. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Madison county since 1961.

He was married at Elk Point, Nebr., in 1942, to Helen Lincoln St. Onze. Her death occurred in 1961.

Nearest surviving relatives are a brother, Art Behner of Sioux City and a sister, Mrs. Ernest Davis of Sioux City. He also leaves a step-son, Alfred Lincoln of Des Moines; four step-grandchildren; and 12 step great grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. armed forces during World War I, and was a member of the American Legion.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset conducted by the Rev. E. K. Burham, pastor of the First United Methodist church of Winterset. Burial was made Monday at Logan Park cemetery in Sioux City, with graveside services.
