Marjorie J. Beem, Winterset

Marjorie Johnson Beem, 84, died of a heart ailment Feb. 14, 2000, at Integrated Health Services in Winterset.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset with Pastor Steve Koch officiating. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the family present from 6-8 p.m.

Marjorie Beem was born Feb. 23, 1915, to Earnest Alonzo and Rose Ida (May) Johnson of Creston. She was a 1935 graduate of Winterset High School. She married Eldon Beem on June 9, 1941 in Trenton, Mo. A homemaker and lifetime resident of Winterset, Marjorie worked for the Harold Huntoon family in Winterset for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce Bee (wife Linda) of Livingston, Texas, and Terry Coghlan (wife Jill) of Altoona; two sisters-in-law, Agatha Agan of Winterset and Ricky Gorman of Yuma, Ariz.; a brother-in-law, Elwood Beem of Humboldt, Neb.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three nephews; and one niece.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Middle River Hospice or St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset.
