CHARLES H. HART

Charles Henry Hart, son of Henry and Martha Jane Hart, was born in Illinois, July 19, 1850, and departed this life Sunday, April 4, 1926, at the home of his daughter, Mabel.

He was one of a family of nine children, the only surviving one, Earnest, living in Kansas City. At the age of four years he moved with his parents to Luzern, Benton county, then later to Marshall county of this state, where when yet a young man, he united with the Methodist church.

On October 30, 1875, he was united in marriage to Sarah Olive Croate. To this union five children were born: Myrtle, who died in infancy; Mabel, now Mrs. A. C. Shutz of Macksburg, with whom he made his home; Sam, of Enid, Oklahoma; Harold of Pasadena, California; and Fenn, of Lankersheim, California. Besides these there are eleven grandchildren and many other relatives and friends to mourn the loss.

During their married life, Mr. and Mrs. Hart lived in Macksburg for several years, also at Concordia, Kansas at Enid, Oklahoma, for some time, and at Hollywood, California, but of late years had made their home in or near Macksburg.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Athey of the Macksburg M. E. church, Wednesday, April 7, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Schutz.

Interment was made in the Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
