CHARLES V. RYAN Dies at 86 Years

Charles V. Ryan of Booneville died Feb. 22 at a Des Moines hospital at the age of 86 years.

Mr. Ryan was the son of John and Frances Fletcher Ryan, and was born Jan. 29, 1878, in Humeston. When he was 10 years of age the family moved to Oskaloosa, where he spent his early life. After attending Drake University and Highland Park college in Des Moines, he taught school until 1915, when he purchased the farm near Booneville where he has since lived.

He was married Aug. 19, 1908, to Elizabeth Hug, who survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Frieda Hackley of Des Moines; a granddaughter, Mrs Doris Best of Booneville; a great grandson; and two sisters, Mrs. Effie Lloyd of California and Mrs. Lillian Kinseth of Albert Lea, Minn.

Funeral servies were held Feb. 25 from the Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter, conducted by the Rev. Howard Hayes of Waukee. Burial was made in Polk City cemetery.
