PHILLIP W. YOUMANS, Des Moines

Services for Phillip W. Youmans, 66, Des Moines, who died Jan. 2, 1985, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Urbandale. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at the Kale Funeral Home, Truro, which is handling arrangements.

Mr. Youmans was born Feb. 11, 1918.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine; a daughter, Elizabeth Voss of Michigan; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Lenore May of Tucson, Ariz., and LaVere Cumings of Truro.

Phillip Youmans Rites Jan. 5

Phillip Wayne Youmans, 66, of Des Moines, died Wednesday, January 2 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. Services were held Saturday, January 5 at the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Father Robert Kem of Urbandale officiating at the 11 a.m. rites. Interment was in the Woodland Cemetery, Des Moines.

Phillip Wayne Youmans was born February 11, 1918 at Peru, Iowa to Clyde William Youmans and Floy Mae Fenimore. He attended schools in Winterset and St. Louis Mortuary College.

Phillip and Maxine Hill were married February 2, 1940 in Perry. Two children were born to this union. He was former owner of Youman’s Burial Vault, member of the Iowa Funeral Directors since 1942, National Funeral Directors, Capital Lodge #110, Scottish Rite Bodies, ZaGaZig Shrine, and the Madison County Farm Bureau. He was a member of the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Maxine of Des Moines; daughter, Elizabeth Voss and husband, Jerry of Allen Park, Michigan; three grandchildren, David, Daniel and Anne; and two sisters, LeNore May and husband, James of Tucson, Arizona and LeVere Cumings of Truro.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
