Mary Lavaun Beard, Winterset

Mary Lavaun Beard, 68, of Winterset died November 16 at Care Center South where she was a resident. Funeral services were held Tues., Nov. 19 at Collins Funeral Home with burial at the Winterset Cemetery. Rev. Leonard Leslie presided over the ceremony.

A lifelong resident of Winterset, Mrs. Beard was born May 20, 1923 to John R. Beedle and Hazel M. Beaman Beedle in Madison County. On March 16, 1941, she married Guy M. Beard in Winterset and lived her life as a homemaker and mother.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Winterset.

Surviving relatives are her husband; a son, Larry D. Beard and wife, Alma, of Charles City; a sister, Beulah Howell and husband, Delbert of Winterset and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Duane Beedle.

A memorial has been established for the family.
