Darlene G. Beard, 70, of Winterset died of a heart aillment Aug. 10, 1998, at Winterset Care Center North.

Visitation is today from noon to 8:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. John Shaull officiating. Burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery.

Darlene Gladys Beard was born November 1927 in Winterset to Clyde and Mary (Janes) Beard. She was a lifetime resident and had retired from waitressing. She also was a 1947 graduate of Winterset High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

She is survived by a brother, Jerry Beard of Indianola; and three sisters, Jackie Wickett of Indianola, Wanda Johnston of Winterset and Rae Ann Hitchcock of Winterset.
