MRS. MARY E. GILLASPIE

The Madisonian is sorry to learn of the death of Mrs. Mary E. Gillaspie, wife of Dr. J. J. Gillaspie, of Des Moines, formerly of this county. They were married less than one year ago. The union that promised life long wedded happiness is thus cut short in the flower of its early being.

Dr. Gillaspie was born and brought up in Madison county, being a son of Mr. James Gillaspie, of Crawford township. He studied medicine and had already acquired a good practice in Des Moines, and also held the professorship of anatomy in King's medical college.

His many acquaintances and friends in this county will heartily sympathize with him in his early and sad bereavement.
