Funeral services for Jessie M. Bean of Winterset were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, at Collins Funeral Home. Burial was at the St. Charles Cemetery with Rev. Scott Grotewold officiating.
Mrs. Bean died Monday, October 29, at Villa West Care Center at the age of 89.
Born on December 11, 1889 in Warren County, she was the daughter of Uriah and Mary J. Small Snider. She taught country school in Warren County and was married to Arthur V. Bean in 1911 at St. Charles.
Mrs. Bean lived here most of her life and attended the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. She was a member of the Patterson WSCS and was a charter member of Kasson Friendship Club.
Among the survivors are two sons, Marvel S. Bean of Des Moines and Roger Bean of Winterset; a daughter, Mrs. Glen Gates of Eldora; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, her parents, an infant daughter, three brothers and two sisters.
