Henry L. Angevine, the subject of this memoir, was born in the state of New York, September 18th, 1824, and would have been 64 years old September next. He came from Ohio to Illinois in 1856, and from thence to Iowa in 1867 and has resided in this community twelve years past.

He was united in marriage with Miss Mary Vinson March 1859, 28 years they have breasted life's storm's together. To them were born two sons and one daughter. One son and daughter died in childhood; the surviving son is a mourner here today.

Mr. Angevine was reared by Christian parents and had in youth the counsel of pious friends. He gave evidence to his family that it was well with him, that he was trusting in his Redeemer, and as the end drew near he gave such advice and directions to his wife and son regarding their future as he thought best for them.
