JOHN YOUNG Dies in Des Moines

John B. Young, last surviving member of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. K. Young, who were pioneer Madison county resident, died at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines Monday, Feb. 2, 1953, after a long illness.

Born at Blue Earth, Kan., Nov. 4, 1868, he came to Winterset with his parents as a child. They lived here until 1917, when he moved to Des Moines, which since had been his home.

He was married Jan. 18, 1897, to Miss Frankie Newton of Winterset. They were parents of three children, one of whom died in infancy. Surviving are a daughter, Catherine, a son, Albert, and a foster son, Fred, all of Des Moines.

He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Funeral services were held Feb. 4 from the Highland Park funeral home in Des Moines and burial was made in Highland Memorial Gardens.
