Gladys L. Beaman, 88, of Winterset died of complications of pneumonia Dec. 12, 1999, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16 at the Worthington United Methodist Church, rural Earlham, with the Rev. Alberta Erwin officiating. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 15) at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Gladys Beaman was born May 3, 1911, near Pitzer in Madison County to Harry and Velma (Bowlsby) Olson. She married Harold Ivan Beaman on July 29, 1929, at Greenwood Park in Des Moines. A homemaker, most of her life was spent on the farm. Gladys was a member of the Worthington United Methodist Church and the WSCS at Worthington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by a daughter, Joan Brown (husband Don) of Winterset; a son, Russell Beaman (wife Ruth) of DeSoto; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Worthington United Methodist Church.
