Lloyd Bates Buried Here

Lloyd C. Bates of Heber Springs, Ark., a former resident of Madison county was buried last Wednesday at Moon Cemetery in Macksburg, following funeral services at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Willis Grant conducted the services.

Mr. Bates died Feb. 24 at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Ark.

He was a native of Merna, Nebr., where he was born July 31, 1901, a son of Frank C. and Sophronia Eivins Bates. For 39 years he lived in Madison County. He was a member of the American Legion and was a veteran of World War II.He was married Aug. 17, 1953, to Doris Warrington, who survives him.

He also leaves a brother, Frank R. Bates of Macksburg; and two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Hatfield of Creston and Mrs. Clayton Delaplain of Menlo.
