HENRY YATES Dies At Memorial Hospital

Henry L. Yates, a life-long residient of this community, died at the Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset Sunday, May 10, 1953. He was 82 years of age.

Mr. Yates was born on a farm south of Patterson on March 19, 1871, a son of George and Melissa Yates. He spent most of his life on a farm east of Winterset, but moved to town here about 12 years ago.

He was married March 25, 1891, to Lillian M. Bard. They were parents of three sons. The wife and one son preceded him in death.

He is survived by two sons, Nestor and Ray Yates; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
