Sarah Lucile Bartmess, 99, of Lorimor died Feb. 7, 2000, of a heart ailment at Greater Community Hospital in Creston.
Graveside services were held today (Wednesday, Feb. 9) at 2 p.m. at Winterset Cemetery with Pastor Dwayne Henrichs officiating.
Lucile Bartmess was born Aug. 26, 1900, in Madison County to William and Phelena (McGee) Sumpter. She married Byron Bartmess on Feb. 26, 1918. A homemaker, Lucile had resided in Lorimor the past year, having previously lived for 20 years in Madison County and Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson and a son-in-law.
She is survived by a daughter, Doris Vert of Lorimor; three great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to her family.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
