MRS. HARLEY BARTLETT OF OAK GROVE PASSES

Funeral Services to Be Held This Thursday at Macksburg

Mrs. Harley W. Bartlett, a well known Madison county resident most of her life, died Tuesday, July 18 at her home in the Oak Grove community. She was 57 years of age and had been in failing health for the last eight months.

Mrs. Bartlett was the former Valeta May Miller, daughter of Byron and Martha Miller, and was born in Madison county March 9, 1893. She graduated from Newton high school, where she lived for a few years. She also lived in Des Moines for some time.

She was married to Harley W. Bartlett Nov. 12, 1913. They were the parents of three children, one of whom died in infancy.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter; Mrs. Eva Blanche Allen of Prole; and a son, Lloyd Wayne Bartlett at home.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the Macksburg Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. Boyd Zoeller. Burial will be made in the Pleasant View cemetery.
