Nelson Draper, a well-known retired farmer of Madison county, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1965, at his home in Peru. He was 69 years of age.
Mr. Draper had been a resident of Madison county since 1902. He was a native of Buchanan County, where he was born Oct. 21, 1895, a son of Lyman A. and Ellen Kerns Draper.
His first wife preceded him in death many years ago. He is survived by his second wife, the former Pearl E. Shetterly; and by two sons, Clair and Willis Draper of Des Moines; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Mable and Lucille Landis of Des Moines.
Funeral servies were held last Thursday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. Earl Travis. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
