Delbert Orval Barr, 88, of Lorimor died at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset Feb. 15, 2002, of complications from a fall.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Ben Turner officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Delbert Barr was born March 26, 1913, to Thomas Grant and Anna (Roush) Barr of Dunreath. He married Daisy Mohler on June 2, 1940, in Dunreath. He had been a resident of Lorimor for 49 years, moving from Dunreath in 1953. Delbert, a retired farmer, had been a township assessor in Dunreath, on the ASC Committee and a 4-H leader. He also was a member of the Winterset Saddle Club and Winterset First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and an infant grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy, of Lorimor; a son, O. Wayne Barr (wife Gayla) of Lorimor; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a great-great-grandson.
