Willard C. Barnett, Earlham

Willard Curtis Barnett, 96, of Earlham died April 11, 2001. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 14, at Bear Creek Friends Church with the Revs. Keith Morrison and Keith Smith officiating. Burial was at Bear Creek Cemetery.

Willard Barnett was born April 2, 1905, to Bert and Effie Barnett of rural Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. At age 3, his family moved to the Bear Creek area. He attended country school at Bear Creek and two years of high school in Earlham. On June 6, 1928, he married Mabel Hutzell of Earlham at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Willard and Mabel moved to the family farm in 1945 where most of their 69 years of marriage were spent.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, two grandsons and a brother.

He is survived by two sons, Bob Barnett (wife Loretta) of Stuart and Darwin "Butch" Barnett (wife Karen) of Earlham; a daughter, Sharon Duffey of Adel; two daughters-in-law, Margaret Barnett Jones of Redfield and Janeann Barnett of Morris, Ill.; a sister, Maudie Applegate of Earlham; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Kuhn Funeral Homes of Dexter and Earlham.
