Irene Banks, Winterset

Irene Banks, 88, of Winterset, died of renal failure Nov. 3, 1996 at Care Center North in Winterset. Funeral services will be today, Nov. 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Winterset. The Rev. Bobby Dickerson will officiate the services and burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in Kansas City, Mo. on Aug. 12, 1908 to William and Elizabeth (Simpson) Davis. She married Patrick Banks on March 12, 1936 in Greenfield. She was a homemaker and a retired nurses aide for Madison County Memorial Hospital. She had lived most of her life in Madison County. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Winterset and had done volunteer work for senior citizens for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Surviving relatives include one son, Wallace Dick and wife Betty of Douds; two daughters, Marjorie Paullin and husband Gerald of Winterset, and Patty Harsh and husband Skip of Adel; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church.
