FUNERAL SERVICES HELD ON SUNDAY WITH BURIAL AT PITZER
Mrs. Elmer Banks of Winterset died Friday, July 3, at the home of her son, Russell W. Mabbitt, here. She was 74 years of age.
Mrs. Banks was the former Ardelia Lamb, daughter of Hezakiah and Charlotte Lamb. She was born Feb. 12, 1879, in Page county, Virginia. As a small girl she moved to Earlham, Iowa, where she attended school and united with the Early Chapel Church of Christ.
On Feb. 13, 1897, she was married to John W. Mabbitt. His death occurred in 1929. Several years later she was married to Elmer Banks, who survives.
She leaves eight children; Oscar C. Mabbitt of Adel, Thomas E. Mabbitt of Henderson, Mrs. Vada E. Criss of Topeka, Kan., Mrs. Bertha B. Shade of Cumming, Mrs. Sylvia M. Schoenenberger of Winterset, Wesley C. Mabbitt of Topeka, Russell W. Mabbitt of Winterset and Mrs. Irene E. Kephart.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Leonard Pearson of Winterset; 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Pitzer cemetery.
