MILTON YOUNG, St. Charles

Milton Young, 81, of St. Charles died of a heart attack Nov. 25, 2001, at his home.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 28) at St. Charles Parish Church wth the Rev. Darold Snow officiating. Burial was at St. Charles Cemetery.

Milton Young was born Oct. 1, 1920, to William Roy and Mary B. (Bond) Young of St. Charles. A 1938 graduate of St. Charles High School, he married Helen Byers on Nov. 1, 1946, in Bondurant. Milton was a retired farmer and lifetime resident of the St. Charles community. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was a member of the Lions Club, Campers Club, Madison/Warren Ecumenical Association and St. Charles Parish Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, of St. Charles; two sons, Roger Young (wife Sheryl) and Larry Young (wife Sherry), both of St. Charles; two daughters, Linda Bittner (husband Randy) and Judy Young (husband Tom), both of St. Charles; two brothers, Horace Young of St. Charles and James "Jim" Young of Ames; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Homes of Osceola and Truro.
