JOAN YOUNG, Winterset

Joan Young, 72, of Winterset, died of a respiratory ailment on Jan. 20, 1997 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. A memorial service will be held Jan. 24, 1997, at 2 p.m. at the Firs Baptist Church in Winterset with the Rev. John Shaull officiating.

She was born in Pella on Nov. 21, 1924, to Richard and Johanna (De Koning) McCoy. She was a bookkeeper and a member of the First Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Madison County for the past 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving relatives include one son, Todd Young and wife Brenda of Ft. Worth, Texas, and one grandson.
