BATAVIA-Wilma M. Baldridge, 83, of Batavia died Jan. 8, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 3, 1918 in Winterset to Guile Ephriam and Ona Belle Hoots Moore. She married John J. Baldridge on April 11, 1942 in Princeton, Mo. He died Jan. 25, 1999.
A 1938 graduate of the Iowa School of the Deaf in Council Bluffs, she was formerly employed at Graham Studios in Winterset. She and her husband moved to Batavia in 1946 to live in the house her husband was born in. She was a member of the Iowa Association of the Deaf.
She is survived by a son, Milton of Fairfield; three daughters, Karen Baldridge of Batavia, Julie M. Durflinger of Fairfield and Nora S. Rupe of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel L. Beiner of LaGrange Park, Ill.
Her husband; her parents; a son, Jon; a step-mother; a stepbrother; a granddaughter; and an infant sister preceded her in death.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Kremer Funeral Home in Batavia with the Rev. David Albert officiatin. Interment will be in Batavia Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at noon today in the funeral home with family present from 7 to 8 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established.
Pallbearers will be Todd Baldridge, David Klyn, Matthew Gingerich, Don Roberts, Verne Myers, Troy Rupe, John Renfrew and Larry Spencer.
