Death Sunday Of Dawn Baker

A lifetime resident of Madison County, Zelma Dawn Baker, 85, died Sunday, October 24, 1976, at University Hospitals in Iowa City. She was a resident of Winterset, born at Peru, Iowa July 7, 1891.

The daughter of Ulrichz Waechter and Lillie E. Fenimore Waechter, Mrs. Baker was married to Grover C. Baker on January 5, 1916 in Peru.

She was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church, a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion Green-Rogers Post 184 Auxiliary, Madison County Memorial Hospital Guild and the Madison County Antique Association.

Surviving Mrs. Baker is a daughter, Willa R. Moore, Mt. Rainier, Maryland, two granddaughters, two great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Orval Clark of Des Moines. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.

Funeral services for Zelma Dawn Baker were conducted Tuesday, October 26, at 11 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home, Rev. Paul Bousfield officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
