Rollin Smith Baker, 70, born in Jefferson township of Madison County, died Friday, November 19, 1976, at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, a resident of rural Winterset.

The son of Rufus Baker and Mable Smith Baker, Rollin Smith Baker was born September 23, 1906. He was a veteran of the Seabees, a lifetime resident of Madison County and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving Mr. Baker are two brothers,Dwight of Des Moines and Marcy of Winterset and three sisters, Nola McKibben of Adel, Louise Walker of West des Moines and Eva Carter of Des Moines.

Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Rollin Baker were conducted Tuesday, November 23, at 10 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home, with burial at the North McDonald Cemetery, Jefferson township. Services were conducted by V.F.W. Post 8142 of Winterset.
