Ronald L. Baker, Winterset

Funeral services for Ronald LeRoy Baker, 57, were held Sat. Nov. 21 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Mr. Baker died November 18, 1992, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Burial was at Union Chapel Cemetery.

He was born in Corning June 27, 1935, to Floyd and Shirley (Cozad) Baker. He married Bonnie Hodgson June 27, 1954 in Des Moines. He had lived in Winterset since 1968 working as a farmer and truck mechanic. He was employed by Mid-Continent Eqpt. and Hawkeye Truck Co. Baker was a familiar face on the local stock car and racing circuit, competing in numerous mechanic's stock car races over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving relatives include his wife; two sons, Gary L. Baker and Tim Baker of Winterset; one brother, Russell Gay of San Diego, Calif; three sisters, Betty Hosler of Des Moines, Mary Harris of Carlisle and Beverly Armstrong of Booneville; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to his family.

Note: burial was made in the Union Chapel Cemetery, South Township.
