Richard Bailey, Winterset

Richard W. Bailey, 30, of Winterset, died Feb. 2, 1995 at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa of injuries sustained on a job site. Funeral services were Feb. 6 at the Word of Life Christian Center in Winterset. Pastor Charles Moran officiated the ceremony with burial following at the Winterset Cemetery.

He was born in Des Moines on July 12, 1964 to Lawrence W. and Myrtle A. (Young) Bailey. He married his high school sweetheart, Shelley Huen on Feb. 8, 1986 at Scotch Ridge Church in Warren County. He was a self-employed house mover and had lived the last five years in Winterset. He was a member of the Word of Life Christian Center in Winterset. He was a graduate of Indianola High School and a member of the Firestone Union Local 310 of the URW. He had worked as a welder, pipe fitter and had worked six years in maintenance at Firestone in Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.

Surviving relatives include his wife of Winterset; two daughters, Sarah and Suezanna Bailey, both at home; his parents; and two brothers, Ken and Mike Bailey, both of Des Moines.
