Funeral services for Nanna Bailey, 88, were held Sat. March 13 at Winterset Foursquare Church with the Rev. Loren Caudill and the Rev. Loyd Osborn officiating. Mrs. Bailey died March 10 of Alzheimer's disease at Woodbury West Care Center in West Des Moines. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
She was born in Chesterville, Ill. on April 20, 1904, to James and Gillian Alcorn. She married Willis Bailey on November 10, 1926 in Madison County. A homemaker, she lived in Winterset most of her life and was a member of Winterset Foursquare Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one granddaughter, nine brothers and one sister.
Surviving relatives include five sons, Lawrence, Floyde, and Marvin Bailey, all of Des Moines, Paul Bailey of Martensdale and Merle Bailey of Laurens, S.C.; three daughters, Ella Reed, Des Moines, Irene Osborn, Ottumwa, and Delores Wray of New Castle, Ind.; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to her church.
