Former Winterset Resident Died in Des Moines at 75 Years
Mrs. May Bacon, formerly of Winterset, died July 21 at Des Moines at the age of 75 years.
Mrs. Bacon was born near Winterset, Jan. 1, 1873, the daughter of Simeon S. and Mary H. Burd. She was one of 12 children all of whom have preceded her in death. Her father was a pastor of the Winterset Christian church. She was educated in the local schools and attended the Winterset high school.
She spent practically all her life in Iowa, and had lived in Des Moines the last eight years.
She is survived by her husband Orville A. Bacon of Des Moines, a step-daughter, Mrs. Lela Clemens of Des Moines; and a stepson, Amos Bacon of Chicago.
Funeral services were held here last Friday from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. I. S. Nay, of the Primitive Baptist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
