Mary Ann Wallace

EARLHAM-A funeral for Mary Ann Wallace (Wallace) 83, of Des Moines and formerly of DeSoto was held April 17, 1991 at McKee Funeral Home here. Mrs. Wallace died of a heart attack on April 14 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at Des Moines. Burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.

The daughter of Frank and Katie Reisch Rector, she was born near Floris on July 29, 1907. She was a graduate of Parsons College at Fairfield, and she taught for a number of years in Iowa schools. She also owned and operated The Band Box Dress Shop at Adel prior to her retirement. She married Paul Wallace on Aug. 22, 1930. She was a member of the DeSoto United Methodist Church and the PEO.

Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by her parents; by three sisters, by three brothers; by her husband, Paul, in April 1977; and by a daughter, Marilyn Pauline, in July 1989.

Survivors include a brother, Harry Rector of Vinton, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
