James E. Slaybaugh

EARLHAM-James E. Slaybaugh, 50, of Earlham died of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning on Nov. 3, 1991 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center at Des Moines. The body was cremated, and a private interment service was scheduled at the Earlham Cemetery.

Mr. Slaybaugh was born in Guthrie County and had lived most of his life at Earlham. He was employed as a diesel mechanic for Farmland Industries. He was a member of the Early Chapel Christian Church.

Mr. Slaybaugh was preceded in death by a son, James.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; a daughter, Rhonda Knock of Minburn; two step-children, Jerry Poore of Des Moines and Sherry Webb of Norwalk; his parents, Ivyl and Lela Slaybaugh of Earlham; a sister, Cheri Cook of Van Buren, Mo.; three grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.
