Richard Lee Smith, Earlham

Funeral services for Richard Lee Smith, 28, will be held Thurs., Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. at Worthington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nova Wells officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family visitation being 7:30 to 8:30. Mr. Smith died October 6 at his rural residence.

A lifetime Madison County resident, he was born March 5, 1963 to James B. and Lucile (Stanley) Smith at Madison County Memorial Hospital, Winterset. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1984 and then worked on the family farm. He was a member of the Worthington United Methodist Church and the Winterset High School Alumni Association.

He is survived by his parents; a brother, S. James Smith of Winterset; and four sisters, Vera M. Smith of Marshalltown, Jane L. (Mrs. Dean) Loomis of Winterset, Nancy A. (Mrs. James) Brants of Marshalltown and Vanna S. (Mrs. Merlin) Anderson of Corwith.

Burial will be in Worthington United Methodist Church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
