DELLA MAE WILLIAMS

Della Mae Williams was born December 27, 1879, in Wapello county, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and departed this life June 30, 1952 at the age of 72 years, six months and three days at the Redfield hospital.

In the 1890’s she came to Madison county, Iowa and made her home at John Spence’s.

On September 26, 1906, she was united in marriage to Jim D. Williams of Earlham, who preceded her in death April 20, 1944. To this union three daughters and three sons were born: Mrs. Bertha Weaver, San Diego, California; John R. Williams, Rockford, Illinois; and Wayne Williams of Dexter; also two grandchildren made their home with her, Richard D. Paullin and Phyllis Rogers.

Two daughters and one son precede her in death: Anna Mae Paullin, Iva L. Wenger and Kenneth Williams.

She also leaves to mourn her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren besides many other devoted friends, relatives and neighbors.

She was a member of the United Presbyterian church and had spent most of her life in Madison county.

Yes her life was filled with many interests, but chief among them all was her family and home and to them she gave a life of deepest devotion.

Services were held July 4, 2:00 p.m. at the Evans Funeral home in Dexter with Rev. Clyde King in charge. Burial was in the Pitzer cemetery.

SERVICES FRIDAY FOR MRS. DELLA WILLIAMS

Mrs. Della Williams, a former resident of Jackson township died Monday, June 30, at the hospital in Redfield. She was 72 years of age.

Mrs. Williams was the former Della Mae Price and was born in Pennsylvania, coming to Iowa as a girl. She was married to James D. Williams on Sept. 27, 1906, and they spent many years as residents of Jackson township. Her husband died in 1944. Since 1948 she had been living at Dexter.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Weaver of San Diego, Calif.; two sons, John R. Williams of Rockford, Ill., and Wayne Williams of Dexter; two grandchildren, Richard Paullin of San Diego, and Phyllis Rogers of Dexter; five other grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Evans Funeral home at Dexter and burial was made in the Jackson township cemetery.
