JAMES D. WILLIAMS

James D. Williams, son of John and Anna Williams, was born August 3, 1872 and departed this life on April 20, 1944 at the age of 71 years, eight months and 17 days.

He was born at his farm home, where he spent his entire life. On September 27, 1906 he was united in marriage to Della Pryce. To this union five children were born. One son Kenneth died in infancy and one daughter, Anne, preceded her father in death, November 24, 1928.

He leaves a devoted wife, two sons, one daughter and one step daughter to mourn his loss, John, in the armed service at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, Wayne at home, Mrs. Iva Wenger of Ft. Des Moines, and Mrs. Ralph Weaver of California.

They also gave a home to two grandchildren, Richard Poullin, son of the deceased daughter, Anne; and Phyllis Rogins daughter of Iva.

He leaves seven living grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He united with the Presbyterian church at Pitzer early in life. He was a good neighbor and a friend to all who knew him.

He received his education in the public school and followed in his father’s footsteps in the business of farming.

For several years he has been in failing health, but was tenderly cared for by his wife and children.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Pitzer church. Rev. W. A. Kessler of Stuart, conducted the services and was assisted by Rev. C. Lloyd Shubert. Burial was made in the Jackson township cemetery.
