FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR FRED AUGUSTINE

Death Occurred on June 7 at Nursing Home in Winterset

Funeral services for Fred W. Augustine, 86, were held on June 9th at the Richards Funeral home in Winterset.

Mr. Augustine died on June 7 at the Shoemaker nursing home here.

The son of Chris and Magdalene Augustine, he was born Nov. 3, 1864 on a farm near Hebron in Madison county. His wife was the former Lois Viola Knox of Macksburg.

Surviving are his wife, two children, Mrs. Pluma Olson of Oakland, Calif., and Donald Augustine of St. Charles; a sister, Mrs. Kate Rosenbaugh; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was one son, Claude; a sister, Mrs. Mary Platt; and three brothers, John of Oakland, Calif., Robert of Orient and Chris of Hebron.

Mr. Augustine spent his life in Adair, Carroll and Madison counties where he was a contractor, builder and farmer.

Burial was at Glidden in Carroll county.
