Marguerite S. Atherton, Dexter

Services for Marguerite S. Atherton, 98, Dexter, who died Feb. 13 at the Earlham Manor Care Center, were held Sunday, Feb. 15, at the Presbyterian Church in Dexter with the Rev. Al Polito Jr. and the Rev. Charles DeVos officiating. Burial was at the Decter Cemetery.

Born Aug. 12, 1888 at Streator, Ill., she was the daughter of Hector and Jeanette Stewart. She married Claude L. Atherton Dec. 24, 1907 at Morris, Ill., and the couple had three children, Claudia Lee, Valory Jean and Allen Dale.

She lived in Dexter all her married life, was a member of Dexter Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1927.
