RAY J. ATCHESON (ACHESON) OF WINTERSET DIES

Ray J. "Doc" Acheson, a life-long resident of Winterset died at his home here Sunday, Jan. 6. He was 79 years of age.

Mr. Acheson was born in Winterset Dec. 18, 1888, a son of Lemual and Rena Gilpin Acheson. He was a veteran, and a member of Green Rogers post of the American Legion and the Winterset V.F.W. post.

Mr. Acheson was employed at the North Side pool hall for many years. He never married. Closest surviving relatives are two brothers, Billy Acheson of Winterset and Sol Acheson of Des Moines, and a sister, Mary Acheson of Winterset.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Wilson Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Richard L. Lehmann, pastor of the St. Paul Lutheran church. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery, with military honors by Green-Rogers post of the American Legion.
