Earl Anker received word Monday, December 21 of the tragic death of his nephew, Steven Anker, as a result of an auto accident. He flew to St. Louis on Tuesday and on Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anker, Carolyn Ander, Opal Ganoe and Gary Anker drove down to attend the funeral service which was held Thursday, December 24. Mrs. Lyle Cook, Phillip Cook, Thelma Hunt and Maxine Jungman flew down that day also.

Steven was the son of Merle and Patty Anker and grandson of Ray and Irene Anker of Winterset. He leaves his wife, Linda and daughter, Angela, also a sister Jenise. He was preceded in death by his brother David just ten years ago.
