Clifford "Curly" R. Allison, Winterset

Services for Clifford R. Allison, 59, Winterset, who died Nov. 7 at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, were held Nov. 9 at Albia with military rites. Burial was at the Osborn cemetery near Lovilla.

Born Nov. 12, 1925 in Monroe County, he was the son of Charles H. and Etta H. Carter Allison. He lived most of his life in Monroe County but lived the last two years in the Winterset area. He was once a self-employed back hoe operator and employee of the Albia waterworks and recently carred shoppers in northwest Winterset.

On Feb. 29, 1951 he was married to Ruth L. Lester in Albia.

Mr. Allison was a veteran of the Army and was a past commander of the VFW post in Albia and a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of Winterset; daughters, Wanda Campbell of Albia; Kristen Oliver of Indianola, and Mona Oberbeck of Winterset; and three grandchildren.
