FRANCES AMES OF WINTERSET DIES

Death Occurred Last Friday At Home of Daughter, Mrs. Helen Letz

Mrs. Frances J. Ames of Winterset died last Friday, Feb. 12, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Helen Letz in Winterset. She was 89 years of age.

Mrs. Ames had been a resident of Madison county for 27 years. She was a native of Independence, where she was born March 24, 1870, a daughter of H. S. and Frances Hallett Ames. She was married in Des Moines on May 2, 1895, to E. R. Ames. Her husband preceded her in death.

She is survived by the daughter, Mrs. Helen Letz of Winterset; and a brother, J. H. Ames of Ames, Ia.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home at Winterset, in charge of the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial was made at Graceland cemetery at Knoxville.
