EARL YOUNG, Winterset

Earl E. Young, 87, of Winterset, died Jan. 6, 1995 of a respiratory ailment at the Care Center South in Winterset. Funeral services were Jan. 9 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Pastor David Clark officiated with burial at Winterset Cemetery.

He was born June 22, 1907 in Madison County to Hugh Allison and Lillie Estella (Binns) Young. He married Vera Grace Jennings on Feb. 22, 1931 in Hebron. He was a lifetime resident of Winterset and a retired livestock farmer. He as a member of the Earlham United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by five brothers; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include his wife; three sons, Donald Young and wife Barbara of Winterset, Wilson (Bill) Young and wife Ruth of Winterset, and Edward Young and wife Gail of Sioux City; two daughters, Enolia Payne of Winterset, and Sheryl Griffith and husband Thomas of Seattle, Wash.; one brother Howard Young of Winterset; 19 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
